Tell me again how EXTREME it is...

...not to trust your government?

Because I gotta tell you, this thing is EXTREMELY creeping me out. Y'know, if somebody owed me $4K and I sent him a message like this, I've a feeling he'd have at least a civil if not a criminal case against me. "Nice house, Tom. Shame if something happened to it. We know where you live." Nah, nothing threatening about that.

But this is the government, so of course they mean it in a GOOD way.

I wonder if that was done somewhat tongue in cheek or if it really is as blatantly threatening as it seems? Way beyond creepy!

Actually...what's even worse...this apparently is supposed to be the state of PA making nice nice!

This ad is an offer to PA citizens that if they owe back taxes, and if they contact the state tax collectors about their back taxes before a certain date, the state will waive penalties, interest and half what they owe - or something like that.

Somehow - I don't think they understand the concept of "nice"...!

Actually...got thinking about your other post about ID. We _have_ become "numbers". The question is whether we throw out limits on immigration and allow Mexicans - or anybody else - to cross our borders at will, or actually enforce our laws. If we intend to enforce our laws, how do you do that unless you can prove you're a citizen? Papers required. If we want papers to be _not_ required, then aren't we eliminating any possibility of enforcing immigration laws?
