In Schumertopia, cops and soldiers and VIP security goons would have lots and lots of guns.

States find a reason to love firearm manufacturers.

The Confederate Yankee found it deliciously ironic that even Chucky Schumer could find something nice to say about gunmakers, when there were bucks involved...
In New York, Senator Charles E. Schumer issued a news release in May praising Remington after it agreed to move a factory from Maine, bringing with it 40 to 50 jobs.

The release made no mention of Senator Schumer’s record supporting gun control. Instead, it said Mr. Schumer had “led the effort in Congress to repeal the law that limited competition for small arms contracts, so that Remington can now compete for small arms contracts with the Department of Defense.”

But there's nothing ironic about it, or even inconsistent. Schumer isn't against guns, after all, quite the opposite. He's against you and me having guns. But governments and security goons can't make their own guns, any more than they can make anything else except deprivation and misery. So he knows he needs the gun makers, and is no doubt delighted to lure one to his own state - as long as it confines itself to "small arms contracts" ... with the government.

I don't think I'll believe we're really winning until I see a few of those manufacturers refuse to do business with the government. But that's a looooong way off. Those guys know where the big money is, alas.

Where is his protective eyewear? I bet operating a firearm without it breaks some kind of federal law.

Is that a photoshop? 'Cause it's particularly ironic to Schumer with what he once claimed was an "assault rifle".

Maybe someone can talk him into firing from the shoulder. With a little luck, he'll put himself out of our misery.
