Some say it’s a major loophole in the law. At gun stores, you have to get a background check before you can buy a weapon. But online in most states, anyone from law-abiding citizens to dangerous criminals – even terrorists – can get just about any weapon they want, no questions asked. Yep. Personal responsibility is like that, Jeff. It's not neat, and failure to exercise it can be tragic. Nobody promised a utopia - except the people who want to outlaw the exercise of personal responsibility. Strangely, that always - Always! - ends in far greater tragedy.

Part of personal responsibility is being ready and able to defend yourself and your family and friends from danger. Not to depend on the police, who have no responsibility to protect you, but to do it yourself. The best way to do this is with the appropriate tools.

The tools of effective aggression will always be available to those who want to use them for aggression. They don' care 'bout no steenking laws. The tools of effective defense must also always be available, and the only people your "loophole" laws will defend is the aggressors, because they will certainly continue to ignore them.

Will that always be neat and tidy? No. People aren't like that. All I can promise is that the alternative will always and invariably be far worse.
