Hoo-Ya!

Gorgeous weather today, just gorgeous. Got the whole retaining wall foundation clear of clay, and that whole part of the project only took three hours or so. I've got to move all that clay again, of course, because now it's piled on the house foundation, but if I didn't do work at least twice when once would do it wouldn't be traditional. Feeling pretty good about myself at the moment, which is a sure sign something unforeseen is about to go horribly wrong.

Anyway, now I need some mortar and without delay, so I can lay a couple of courses of block. Because otherwise, one good rain and I'll have a lot of it to do over and that thought is depressing enough to drive even me to work at something intimidating, like building a block wall. If M can do it, I can do it!
