Here we go again...

Okay...Nice composted horseshit, check. Adjusted soil pH, check. Regular watering, check. This should be the happiest fruit tree in the known universe, right? Except the damned thing always flowers like crazy in the first week of April, which is WAY before the frost danger is over. So once again the frost will kill the damned buds, and there'll be no chance of actual fruit. I think I've forgotten what sort of fruit it's even supposed to produce.

Last year at this time I spent 25 bucks on heavy-duty plastic and wrapped the whole thing, hoping a hot-cap effect would do the trick. Then I had to frantically run out there and cut the plastic off, because it acted like a sail in the very next windstorm and damned near uprooted the tree. This time I'm letting nature take its unfortunate course.

Has the temperature been colder than 24 degrees? If it has not, then the flower buds opening on the tree should be okay. L2
