Weather, and its effect on making a living

Today was a perfect day for working on the computer, because it was sunny but too cold and windy to want to play outdoors.

I get occasional opportunities to make a little cash on my 'pooter. But this laptop is an old power hog, and unless I'm planning to spend the evening reading by kerosene lamp my system needs direct sunlight to run it. So today, though there are some other gigs hanging over my head, I devoted to getting an increasingly problematic job out of the way. It's been on my mind and in my notes for days, and for days the clouds have made my inverter squeal like a girl every time I fired up the 'pooter. Frustrating, especially since for the past several days I've felt kinda puny and have mostly been sitting around, when I could have more happily been making money indoors.

But hopefully I've got that out of the way. Mostly. And tomorrow, if the weather forecast turns out to mean anything, is a perfect day for shit-shoveling and wood cutting. One needs to plan these things, you know. :)

But the beautiful thing about being "semi-retired" is that mostly you can pick your days.

Do you have a post describing your solar power setup, or would you mind doing one? I'm hoping to move to a small hovel, and would be interested in experimenting.

BTW, I did end up reducing my battery bank, until I can get more solar panels on line.
